Top 8 Reasons Why Vinegar Is Your Dog Grooming Uniform's Best Friend

Posted by Lin Byrne on

1. Brighten Dog Grooming Uniforms and Whiten Whites

To get your dog grooming clothes white again, add a cup of vinegar to a large pot of water, bring to the boil then add your dirty white uniforms. Turn off the heat, soak overnight then wash in your machine. They’ll come up bright and white again!

2. Remove Mildew Odour From Dog Grooming Clothes

If you happen to have a problem with mildew, use vinegar to remove the dreadful mouldy smell left on your dog grooming uniform. Vinegar is a good mould and mildew killer. Personally, I think vinegar actually kills moulds and mildews better than bleach and it is such a cost efficient product. I would soak it in vinegar water. It might take several times, depending on how bad the mildew is.

3. Soften Dog Grooming Apparel Naturally

Even if you are a victim of living in a hard water area, vinegar will still act as a natural fabric softener. Vinegar removes soap and residue. It contains tiny amounts of potassium and sodium, which softens hard water and dissolves mineral build up.

4. Reduce Lint On Pet Grooming Apparel

Throw in a half cup of vinegar into your washing machine rinse cycle to minimise lint on your dog grooming clothes. You'll find less lint on your dog grooming uniforms and that annoying pet hair will find your dog grooming uniforms less appealing.

5. Fight Arm Pit Odour On Grooming Smocks

White vinegar is a miracle ingredient when it comes to getting rid of icky odours. Before you wash your dog grooming clothes, soak them in the sink or a clean tub with one cup of white vinegar and some cold water. Leave them there for about 15 to 30 minutes, then clean in the washing machine. You can add a little white vinegar to the wash too, if you think they need it.

6. Erase Hem Lines In Dog Grooming Uniforms

If you have a hem line on your dog grooming uniform that you want to get rid of, moisten the crease with white vinegar, and iron on the hottest setting allowable for the dog grooming uniform. Make sure you use a press cloth to protect the grooming apparel.

7. Protect Dark Coloured Grooming Apparel

Although white vinegar doesn't have the most pleasant smell, but adding a cup to your washing machine it will not only give you a natural fabric softener, but also help prevent the colours in your dog grooming uniform from fading. The good news? The vinegar smell goes away in the wash.

8. Remove Cigarette Smoke Odours From Your Dog Grooming Clothes

All of our dog grooming uniforms are machine washable, so it is really handy to clean the smoke smell away in the washing machine. Just fill the washing machine with water and add washing powder as you normally would. Add one cup of white vinegar to the washing water. Vinegar is slightly acidic and will break down the smoke and tar molecules that create the smell. Add the affected pet grooming apparel and continue through a normal wash cycle.
